Empowering Our Community

At CASA del Valle, our vision is to empower our community to support our children and youth as they become tomorrow's champions of hope, purpose, and family.

Part of supporting our children and youth is through CASA volunteer participation in court hearings that directly affect kids and their families.  But that is not all, most of a CASA's time is spent as the consistent adult who shows up for a child or youth in their everyday life.  Being that consistent "someone" for a kid that has no one can change their tomorrow.

Giving Children, Youth and Families a Voice

The Goals and Mission of CASA del Valle

Our goal and mission is in enlisting, screening and training community members to help break the cycle of abuse and neglect through prevention, advocacy and intervention aimed at providing opportunities for children, youth and families to thrive.  The needs of children and youth too often fall through the cracks.  CASA del Valle’s focus is to address these gaps by investigating needs, finding resources, and advocating for best interests options within the courtroom and also outside the courtroom by building community support to wrap around children and youth in need.

How CASA del Valle Was Born

After a recent change to Colorado law, concerned community members became aware that our Judges, who are making critical decisions about the futures of children and youth, lack vital information about what is in the child or youth’s best interest. These community members worked to establish CASA del Valle, so that CASA volunteers (Court Appointed Special Advocates) are available for court appointment to ensure that Judges are fully informed about the circumstances of a child or youth’s life. Given that CASA volunteers are focused on improving outcomes for children and youth, their expertise in advocating for and assisting families, youth and children in identifying and accessing resources promotes family stability and connection.   CASAs are often the only consistent adult in the lives of youth and children experiencing the disruption of a dependency and neglect case.
